What this policy covers

This policy explains how Run From Rot (“we,” “us,” or “the app”) handles information when you use the mobile game and this website.

Information you provide

We may receive an email or account identifier when you create an account, your selected age range and survivor preferences, profile photos you choose to upload, and gameplay choices such as missions, encounters, arsenal claims, experience, and miles. If you join the website waitlist, we collect your name, email address, and selected device platform (iOS, Android, both, or unsure) to manage the list and send Run From Rot updates. Waitlist signups are stored in Firebase/Firestore; you can request removal by emailing support@runfromrot.com.

Movement and step data

With your permission, the app reads step totals from your device’s health or activity platform. We store the greatest verified step total for each user and calendar day so multiple devices do not double-count movement. Steps are converted to in-game distance using the app’s published conversion and used to advance missions, award experience, and calculate movement miles.

How we use information

We use information to provide the game, save progress across devices, generate and display survivor identities, prevent duplicate claims, keep missions consistent by day, troubleshoot issues, and improve reliability. We do not sell personal information.

Photos and generated characters

Photos are used only for the identity and character-generation features you request. Do not upload another person’s image without permission. Generated images and the source image may be stored with your account until you delete them or request deletion.

Service providers

We use infrastructure providers, including Firebase/Firestore, for authentication, database storage, and app operations. Providers process data only to deliver services to us and under their applicable terms.

Permissions and choices

You can deny or revoke step permissions in your device settings. You can request access, correction, or deletion of your account data by emailing support@runfromrot.com. We may retain limited records when required for security, fraud prevention, or legal compliance.

Children

Run From Rot is intended for adults and is not directed to children under 13. If you believe a child provided personal information, contact us so we can remove it.

We may update this policy as the app changes. We will post the updated date at the top of this page.
